Re: Summary of all the points below: I suck at picking matchups

I guess what I meant to say in this previously-long written diatribe of my sophomore endeavor into fantasy football, is that, in my opinion, head-to-head matchups suck. And, probably, so do I, because I sit my studs when they produce, then I get mad, and start them to realign my production, and they give my early Easter presents.

Yahoo! leagues
rank 9/12 : 3-6 record : 4th in points w/ 880.46 - the "return yardage, .2 PPR, passing TDs worth 5 pts, no kickers, fractional scoring league". To start off the theme, in this league, I am stacked at receivers, and very thin at RB. Sproles is my bedrock option (especially since every 12 return yards count as a point, and he has over 800 of them now). All the familiar names are here: (the good yet undrafted) Steve Smith, Mike Sims-Walker, Steven Jackson, Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels (may you rest in peace) and Philip Rivers. The maddening elite receivers that I never start are DeSean, Colston, and Sidney Rice. I also was able to pick up Favre off waivers, but I didn't play him v. Packers (rematch). It's a theme, as you will see.
rank 8/12 : 3-6 record : 2nd in points w/ 972.38 (I'd be first in points with the same record had I started Warner instead of Schaub last week... or, if I had started Schaub instead of Warner in weeks 2-6 consistently, especially weeks 2 AND 6). Fitzgerald and (Eli's)Steve Smith are my usual two options at WR, and a healthy Frank Gore and an incrediblly-studly value in Ray Rice are my only two RB. I have alot of scrub receivers with "upside" in this league, but the main reason I score so much is because of my QBs, Fitz, and my rotating DEF that I pick up each week.
rank 8/10 : 3-5-1 record : 4th in points w/ 840 ...it's amazing that I actually have a better record in this league than the two above, since in this league, I was winless until week 7 (lost 5 straight to open up, then a tie in week 6).
rank 6/10 : 5-4 record : 6th in points w/ 770 - I can't tell you how much I hate this league...so F-in much. All the owners are pricks, and they don't know value. I'm dumbfounded that I have the #1 FF scorer with Rodgers, and stud receivers Fitzgerald, A. Johnson, Calvin Johnson, (Dark Blue) Steve Smith, and Greg Jennings, all in a PPR league, and I'm still struggling. my one mistake here is that traded away my only consistent RB before week 3-4 in Ray Rice, who is now the NUMBER 2 FF scorer in our league. This blows.
ESPN leagues
the AYHJA forum league.
rank 3/8 : 5-4 record : 3rd in points (Kumicho is #1, DL1 is #2) Honestly, I'm so disappointed with myself. I lost twice because I may have had too much faith in Warner, and not enough faith in Palmer, when he beat down the Bears to the tune of 39 pts... and recently, when newly-acquired waiver agent Favre (why are people droppping this guy?! He's second in pts overall) punched the Packers in the mouth, while also gaining 35 pts in the game. At least Warner (who blazed the Bears for 40 points this past weekend) finally got it done when he was supposed to.
Also, it's weird that the two new guys are the ones with the best record in this league, and the one of two people who were actually present for the live draft only has 1 win to date. (TT)
rank 3/10 : 6-3 record : 1st in pts with 922 (wow, that's my highest! and this is a standard-scoring league as well) this was a last-minute autodraft league I joined. I lucked out here as the computer drafted for me great RBs (MJD, Ray Rice, and sometimes, Grant), which I don't in any other league. Having Peyton and Rivers helps as well. Oh, and picked up Westbrook (might not be beagging in three weeks, tho) off waivers just last week.
rank 2/10 : 6-3 record : 1st in points w/ 837 (#2 is not even close) this is the other league where I had 5-7 really good receivers, and most of them came off waivers. Fitz, Roddy, and Ochocinco were the ones I drafted, then I picked up (Eli's)Steve Smith, Hines Ward, and Wes Welker, and then traded Ocho /Rashard to get Jennings / Steven Jackson.
Boldin and Miles Austin were in free agency in this league up until 2 weeks ago, too.
CBSSports league
rank tied for 2nd of 12 (w/ two "computer" teams) : 6-3 record : 3rd in points w/ 869 - again, amazing. Truly amazing. I missed on my first two draft picks with LT and Slaton, but with no flex in this league, starting 3 WRs each week, I lucked out again on waivers. Got my fav Steve Smith, and new #1 star in Sims-Walker, along with drafting Vincent Jackson and Dwayne Bowe, and starting Palmer every week (no backup). My one boneheaded stubborn mistake is that I was having trade exchanges with this one team about three weeks ago, and he eventually offered Sidney Rice, Garrard (Palmer on bye, w/ a week 8 rematch v. Titans) and DeAngelo Williams. All I had to give up was Fred Jackson, MSW, and Slaton, but I couldn't pull the trigger. God, such a regret now looking back. (D-Will hadn't broken out yet, and Slaton was channeling good Reggie Bush for 3 straight weeks). *shakes head*
