Re: Fantasy Football 2009 [AF Elite]
I have no hopes to salvage my team...
All I see when I set my roster is a fucking dice roll of a roster...I have no idea who is going to do what, nobody is performing as expected...And I'm not bitching, I know that happens to everyone, but wow...There's no way I would have looked at my roster expecting to be having this kind of year...I'm all set to loose another one this week, underachievers all over my damn squad...

Re: Fantasy Football 2009 [AF Elite]
My team has been awesome since week 9, but the problem is that I kept leaving points on my bench (much the same happened to you, too.) There were at least two matchups (against erokero and vs. DL1 that I absolutely should have won straight-up, but I overthought an injury, or a particular matchup, and I benched my QB, or didn't start Vernon Davis, or left a RB that scored twice on my bench.) No doubt about it, A: if someone were to look over every week of our respective rosters, and see how many bench points were scored by 7 players in contrast to our 9 "starters", it would add up to be a ridiculous total of underachievement.
I'm sorry that I brought in my friend, "the ringer" to this league. He only lost twice (Once to me).
He beat me the week before he beat you Kumicho, and I thought my team was done and out of the playoffs.
You only had to win your last matchup, or I had to lose in the last week for you to advance. Your point total was way higher than mine.
Well, then he beat you, and I backdoored my way into the 4th seed. I am a lucky SOB, and I intend to make it last.
I'll do my best to take down the titan and reach the Championships for the second year in a row!

Re: Fantasy Football 2009 [AF Elite]
I forgot to tell you guys:
At the beginning of August, I committed to 4 fantasy leagues (3 friends and family leagues in Yahoo!, and the AF forums league here, hosted on ESPN).
I wanted as much experience possible, and I also wanted more opportunities to take a championship. I came close last year, but I left my team unattended the final 3 weeks for business traveling reasons, and that was not fair to anyone. But, after finding out how to draft appopriately (this was the first year that I actually drafted most of my teams) through mock drafts and reading pre-season notes, I got the itch for more.
So, the week before the opening kickoff between the Steelers-Titans, I joined an additional 4 leagues, (1 yahoo, 2 espn, 1 cbssports) and let the dice roll.
Fast forward 4 months later, and I'm proud to announce to all of you that not only did I make the playoffs in every single league, but I've also been talented/lucky enough to duke it out for the championship in each league as well.
It's unprecented. A 100% achievement to the big dance.
I'm looking forward to the weekend's spectacle, DL1. (it'd suck if I was a bridesmaid twice in a row)

Congrats man that is quite impressive. I got to the Championship game in both Leagues I was in two years ago. Won one lost the other. But it was only two Leagues.

Re: Fantasy Football 2010 [AF Elite]
Alright. Finally putting my moderate duties to some semi-good-use, and I have decided to ressurect this still kickin' dinosaur.
After a kind message a week ago from team (what was it called again?) "Michael", I've been asked if we are starting this league back up again.
So, what do you think? Too soon?
Do you wish to join our league after seeing this announcement?
We can always use new faces in our still tiny, but friendly, league.
What recent NFL-off-season news do you wish to discuss that may affect your mindset towards your team?
Should I replace the photo below with this past season's Pro-Bowl; or, do you think I should have created a new thread altogether?

'Tis the start of this year's fantasy football league. Are you in the game?
/end corniness :p
/initializing.. Any and all league talk, general news, updates, trade rumours, trash talkin' and delusional self-boasting to your heart's content, because while the NFL season is still around two months away, your fantasy mindset should be preparing to show up to camp right about now.

Nah I'd keep it all here in this existing thread. Let's try and get more teams this year thought to make it interesting. As for the pic above I think just a shot of Tom Brady would surfice for the opening shot. Preferably not one with him hugging a goat or nothing though (look it up if you have no idea what I speak of).
