Okay. Update time.
With a week (or two) gone by, we have an official confirmation of seven returning teams. That's great.
I'm not sure how to contact team BS BS, or have him contact us,
but if for some reason he is not able to rejoin us this season, we'll have Drew assume control of his team.
Now onto the disucussion of when the draft should be held.
Is there a consensus day of the week when we should hold this, say over a weekend, perhaps?
I doubt that many leagues schedule a morning time for the draft, so are afternoons preferred, or evenings?
Additionally, unless say there is a majority vote on this, but does anyone feel strongly towards a format of auction?
I believe the start of this NFL season is the Thursday Night opener on Sept. 9, so the absolute latest,
and maybe the preferential date to which our online draft could be held is the weekend before, from Sept. 2 to 5.
Questions, comments, new buddies you'd like to invite, or any scoring suggestions
(tiebreakers, perhaps adding 2nd QB slot, getting rid of kickers altogether, etc.)
can still be addressed and put towards a talking point. Feel free to ask what you might think is pertinent.

I'm easy (so the ladies say) so whatever time as long as I have enough time to plan around it and I be good.

Is there a a holiday weekend we can take advantage of to plan around the draft?
I'm thinking that perhaps a Tuesday-Thurday night works fine, Mon, Fri, Sat nights are a wildcard (unpredictable), and a Sunday evening might be our shooting point (best option).
The issue is, I think I've noticed that these services really don't allow the entire nation to be online live-drafting on a single weekend of their choosing, so the quicker we can hash out a definite night, perhaps even starting with an actual weekday to target, is our first choice here. Once we have an idea, then can we see if that timeslot is open for us.
(might just pick one now in the meantime while we sort this out amongst ourselves, just so we're not stuck drafting at eight in the morning on a Saturday.)

Alright, just took the liberty to look up, and notice, that the first monday in sept. is labor day;
therefore, I also took the liberty to see if the Sunday night preceding the National off-day was available, and so it was.
any obections to the draft being held on Sept. 5, beginning at 9:30 at night (EST - New York time) ?
(Oh, shoot. The only person I know of here who is not based in the US is Michael, who lives in Germany. That's a +5 or 6 hour difference. Considering if only he has to stay up that late, and not have the benefit of Labor Day working for him, we may want to think about scaling the time back for an afternoon start, say between 4-6 pm.)
If there should be any reason why you may not be available on a Sunday due to family / work obligations, perhaps especially on Labor Day weekend, please state that this is in direct conflict to you being able to attend the live draft.
The more people we can have be able to be there, the better the experience, I think, for us all.
Thank you.

DId you say we CAN'T have it on a weekend? Cause how about the Sunday before the season begins at 1:00 eastern? Wouldn't that make the most sense?

Yeah for some reason one of my other leagues is drafting like this week.....doesn't make any sense to draft this far before the football season, so many championship-hope-derailing-injuries could still happen.
I'm for as close to the season as possible.

You still have to send me your contact info Drew. PM your e-mail addy so I can figure out how to fit you in.
I'm simultaneously sending a message to team BS BS, asking him if he'll be returning.
If he declines, or if I don't get a repy within this next week, I'll have you take over his team, Drew.
It's also looking dim that we get 4 new teams for this season, much less the "average" minimum of 10.
I sent out a feeler to a friend of mine, but that's a big IF (he's never played before).

Taking in the only two opinions on the matter, while still recognizing the other unspoken participants,
I've elected to move the currently set draft date to Sunday, Sep. 5 (Labor Day Weekend) at 5:30 PM Eastern.
I think this accommodates all members of our league, whether they live in Oregon, or in England.
I'm still waiting (kinda hopelessly) to see if anyone else can find at least one new owner to join.

So is CJ Spiller going to be Buffalo's starting RB at the beginning of the season, or will he, too, wear out / injure himself in the pre-season? He's got a hell of whole lot of "every-man" duties to shoulder now.
