The bench deal is cool with me. I hate ties.

I'd rather pick one bench guy each week rather than the whole bench. Just a "tie-breaker" guy.

Maybe posted in the chat box for each matchup before any games start, thus no confusion or changing after the fact?

Picking a guy each week wouldn't work because if someone wasn't around and they didn't pick someone, how do you break the tie?

I think it's either whole bench or go with ties. I much prefer whole bench. I finally did my first auction draft. It's awesome. Everyone should try it out if they haven't already.

About the auction thing: I did two live, a few mock, and a few where I just joined, and let computer "autobid" my roster.
Somehow, half of my autobid rosters turned out great, but the best & ONLY way to do an auction draft is Live, no holes.

If you have ten teams, ten people should be in your draft room, or in your living room.
Best-case second option: if you have 8 or 9 out of ten teams live-drafting; otherwise, it's no fun, and a real chore.
It is kinda fun to have 1 "auto" player to see how fast you can get it to exhaust its funds, but before,
it is really hard to get any kind of good value for players if the comp is bidding for the listed price.

We were allotted 210 dollars because we are running 2 QBs instead of 1, and the computer was autodrafting for one of our buddies...and paid 71 for AP, 71 for CJ, and 48 for MJD in the first three picks lol. When he got on, he had three running backs and 20 dollars left lol.

and how is that any different from not setting your roster each week? If you don't pick someone then your tiebreaker guy's points are just 0pts. The chat boxes are open for every week so it's not like you have to wait on them to post something. Plus using the entire bench uses 0 thought or strategy and just feels somewhat like a letdown.

I somewhat agree with erokero, because while I do notice that ESPN.com services for fantasy football are among the most in-depth and littered with unique customization that are rival to none (though I think Yahoo! and NFL.com are catching up) they are not perfect.

Last year was a weird year for me, as I didn't need much depth at the WR position behind Andre Johnson, Fitzgerald and "the one called Megatron".
So, what I decided to do, instead, was hoard fringe FLEX RBs, and towards the end of the season, I held onto as many top-15 QBs as my roster could fit (I believe I owned Warner, and Palmer, and Favre, and Flacco, and Eli Manning, and maybe even so far as Alex Smith and Kyle Orton). This means my bench could have had up to 3 starting QBs sitting, but in the event of a tie, I would nearly always win against my opponent who only thought to have a bench consisting of 1 backup QB, and other miscellaneous W/R.

I don't think that will happen again this year, but I thought, "if my opponent has to choose a bye-week replacement for a QB at the same time in which I face them head-to-head, I might as well thin the free agent pool for him a bit."

This is just one reason why solely having "most bench points win" is not as good as it sounds.

Plus, one really good customization I want to try, either here, next year, or elsewhere, is getting rid of kickers.
I had a dream, (or I read an article) that offered the suggestion of combining D/ST with the team's kicker.
That way, if you were starting the Green Bay D/ST this week, you'd also be starting Mason Crosby's attempts.

It would involve a good deal more strategy, as some defenses might be awful, but their kickers could save their worth. It also would require due maintenance by the Commish / LM of the league to still have FG stats be relevant to the league, they would have to update them every Monday or Tuesday based on the week's performance, and then add them to the team that "implicitly" started them. The good side about it is their is one less position slot to worry about, as the kicker is not wholly eliminated yet, but just tied to whichever team's defense you are starting that particular week. The bad: one "off" week where a commissioner forgets to add the points to a team, and it loses because of the miscommunication, it would divide the league real fast and perhaps prompt members to leave.

I didn't even think of it like that IO, I'm now on board for pick a player.

I think I hosed myself when I offered that trade proposal (if you've seen it yet).

I have ridiculous depth, so it's not like I gave away some of my players for free;
still, all I was looking to gain was Rodgers and Harvin. I probably gave away 5x too much to get just those two.

Me..?

I'm just happy to have a W, and barely got that...This is going to be a long season for me though, I'm not feeling my team much at all...
