Maybe I don't understand the idea of the 'bump topic' button, if it affects the last post and leaves a gaudy-like big-edit underline, of which might not always be one of my own.
Moving on: To make this quick, how are you guys feeling about this season? Are you a bit tentative, like me?
Or... are you overly confident that you can finally knock off the (almost) three-time repeat champion of 10?
Either way, you know that I am in. Who else is up to the challenge of curbing luck to work in their favor, by way of the spectactor sport that is known as fantasy football?

Thanks for the heads up, DL1. I'm thinking of cutting back this year as well (from the record 12 leagues I was in last year).
It'd be a shame to lose the second loudest "mouth" in the league, but I'm sure you'll still be around the forums to voice an opinion on the league [NFL] as the action unfolds.

Absolutely I'll discuss stuff around here without a doubt! I just thought besides you and me no one was really putting in an effort the last few years or ever in our league so maybe it's time to let it go. Still can't believe you are in that many leagues. I would lose my shit tryin to keep up but if ya enjoy it I hope ya prosper IO!

Besides you two..? Phak you man..! I played hard, I just have the worst luck ever...We can start a new league maybe, or the few guys that are here and do participate, we can join another league...

That's the problem we can't find enough people to fill out this league! If you two guys have another league you need an extra guy for let me know and I'll join up. This league we have is just dead everyweek. No one trash talks or makes trades. I think only three guys showed up for the draft last year alone.

That's not true. I know for a fact that Michael (the guy I recruited) plays well and makes informed roster decisions on a weekly basis.
I don't even know that I can say that for myself. I've been absent for a few weeks each and every season of the AF Elite league, yet somehow, I have made the fantasy finals each year this league has had one of those.
Plus, Ryan, (or "jay gwon" as he is now known?) as an acquaintance of trashtalkr, while he prefers to keep to himself most of the time, he still participates up until the last week of the season. (I know this for a fact, as he absconded with my dumped keeper-friendly RB in Frank Gore one week before I faced you, DL1.)
The only real lagging team member is the revolving door we have for whoever we have take over what is now known as Drew's team.
I'm not sure if we'll have erokero85 or TT back, as I was a bit worried when opening the league back up, it said the creator had to do so.
erokero is usually absent for much of the year here, save for when he comes back to the league, and he also chimes in within the official NFL thread as well.
But... if we don't hear from them in the next two weeks or so, or, if I cannot scrounge up four to five new team owners, (10-12 teams in total) what would you guys have me do? Put this league on hold for one season? Invite you to join one of the (maybe?) four leagues I'm commissioneering, all of which I think, have at least .5 PPR scoring, as well as a more balanced (read as: not wimpy) DEF adjustment?
I'm up for suggestions, really.
This is supposed to be the AF league, but what kind of depresses me is the very real idea that even if all regular members of the forum could join, (I classify a regular member as someone who checks in at least once every two weeks, or posts 3-5 times a month, or has at least 250+ posts) and assuming that these same members known what the NFL is, and enjoy it as much as one might enjoy a free pizza pie, for instance, I still don't think there would be any more than 10 teams in this dream hypothetical scenario.

Plus, as a general rule for internet personalities: combining random joe from random place with same interest with a dozen other schmos doesn't necessarily guarantee that these strangers will strike up a friendly relationship and start chatting each other up.
Over the past three seasons, I've probably joined somewhere in the neighborhood of three dozen fantasy football leagues, and especially if you have nothing at all tying you together to the other unknown owners, there won't be much discussion, if at all, among all involved parties. There are exceptions to this, but they usually involve a Type A[-hole] personality, or some 14-y-o brat thinking he's better than Tom Brady, for whatever deluded reason he pulls out of his smooth, nubile ass.
ESPN leagues are really a crapshoot, in my opinion, as I created two custom "public" leagues, and also joined two others, and it didn't matter. But, even the one NFL keeper league I joined last year, (true standard scoring + full-point PPR) the one I tried to keep you guys updated with, but failed after week 2, that still had two owners who never set a roster beyond week 1, and this one weird guy who only checked in three times, I believe, exactly six weeks apart.
There were always owners that never showed up, or those that gve up after week 2, and so on.
I was really lucky to find a standard scoring auction league with these 4 schmos from Seattle, I think, because even though they were friends and traded amongst each other, (there were only around 3-4 trades in the league, including one that involved myself) nearly every team in that particular league always had a different roster set from the one they rolled with the week before. That's a hard proposition to maintain unless you have buddies that you can hound to stop being such a sissy bitch and start playing this virtual game of fantasy FOR REALZ. :p

WOw that was alot of words. Well I think everyone here has other leagues they're involved with and this one just always seemed like a drag to everybody (just my opinion but you obviously disagree IO) so I will still politely move on but will discuss NFL stuff with you guys. :)

LOL @ dl1...
Oh, I don't talk too much trash...Hard to, when you getting your as handed in every week...But, I'm fine with us not having a league here, or maybe having a league here, I just want to play...And I def. don't go to the drafts...For what..? I have my keepers, the rest will be fillers...And I can make moves in the season like I did last year when I jumped the gun and got Vick...So, while our league wasn't die hard fans, I think we had some pretty good participation...
I'm pretty sure I can get the guys that I played with in another league to sign up for our league here...I can't vouch for their participation 100%, but I think it will at least be decent...Though, I dominated them last year, so they may fear me, heh...
