Jeter and his 3,000th hit

Interesting debate going on...
As many of you may know, Derek Jeter got 3,000 hits in a rather emphatic way, a homerun...DJ is the first Yankee in history to reach the 3,000 hit mark, which is amazing since every all time great list you can think of will have at least 5 Yankees on it...
The guy who caught the ball gave the ball back to Jeter...

There are a lot of people thinking that it was the "right" thing to do...I don't know about that...I don't know what the auction on ebay would have been for the ball, but...I don't think that it would have been far fetched to think that he could have gotten a clean 6 figs...
For a $65 seat..? Shit...I would have started the raffle right there...Mr. Jeter, this ball can be yours again for the fine price of $250K...Man, you know he got it..! They gave him some autographs, season tix and things like that...But...Wow...Think of how much that ball might be worth in 30 years...
I don't know man, I don't love baseball...Shit, I don't know if I love anything like that outside of my family, that I could make a decision that would change my lifestyle because it was a good or right thing to do...
What would you have done..? Given the ball back..? Sold it..? Kept it..?
