Wow, very surprised to hear this. I don't know what to say. He had so much talent and pretty much wasted it away either when he wasn't giving every game his all or in this case...just quits.

Yeah bad attitude but he is without a doubt getting in on first ballot. The guy was the second greatest receiver after Rice.

Why does everyone say he had a bad attitude..? Times I've seen him on camera, he looks cool...I've never heard about players of his caliber, like say a Tom Brady, complaining about Randy...It's not in everbody's DNA to be this great guy when shit is fucked up...If I was on a shitty team I'd probably have a bad attitude too...Dude is productive as FUCK, besides Jerry, in a fantasy draft, who are you taking above Randy? I think Jerry Rice just got spoiled, he played with two hall of fame quarterbacks, and another pro bowl QB in Rich Gannon...Stick him on on the field with Andrew Walter for a season and see if he'll keep smiling and shining...

Hey man I loved the Randy especially for what he did for my team but you saw his rant last year after New England blasted Cincy in the first game of the season. Instead of praising what a hell of a job Welker did after returning from his knee surgeries he went up and made it all about him and his contract. He never made life easy for Matt Cassell either when Brady was out for a year, the guy was running half speed compared to the year before. Last year in a meet and greet for season ticket holders where the players are supposed to mingle a bit and sign autographes Randy sat in a corner with his shades and headphones on and refused people and when asked if he was excited about starting the season he said "no". So that's just a little of what was going on with a winning team....not even gonna go into the Oakland, Minny II or Tennessee stuff.

Definitely a diva but again I loved him but he was without a doubt the greatest I've ever seen.

And you're a Pats fan, so I wouldn't dare challenge your knowledge on this, but if what you say is true, then either directly or indirectly, Randy helped Matt Cassell end a career long skid as a back up and blossom as a starter...Moss still had over 1,000 yards and lead the team in TD's by a long shot...Again, if what you're suggesting is that he was running half speed, and had he been running full speed he would have had 2,000 yards and 20 TD's, I'm going to have to disagree...

I don't think there is a WR in the league that doesn't take plays off...How many times do you go as hard as you can before you've gone 25 times full speed and haven't had a ball come your way yet..? I play QB, I'm not a WR, but I understand the frustration they have...You'll never see all the times Randy helped a young WR in practice or camp, gave good advice, or got the bad end of the stick with a coach and a reporter rolls up in his face immediately after and asks a question like, "Are you ready for some football...!?" I'm sure he felt like that at that time, but again, I go by players...If you you had said Tom Brady had some slights towards Moss, I'd consider that golden...But the media does what the media do, in most cases...

He could have been, but wasn't. Look at his stint with the Raiders (vs Rice's stint with the Raiders). Moss had potential to actually be better than RIce. Maybe it was the drugs or how he was raised. Who knows.

Don't get me wrong Randy at half speed is still better than most receivers at full speed and he still had a good year with Cassell throwing but you could see ALOT of times where he wasn't making the extra effort he did for Brady to make the spectacular catches. I think he realized his mistake when he left cause when he came back a few weeks later as a Viking he was gushing about the Patriot way and Brady and Belichick. But yeah you're right his teammates loved him but his coaches besides Belichick were just were pulling out their hair trying to work with the guy. And yeah some guys are gassed and take plays off but when Moss does it it's pretty obvious even Revis pointed it out that he was one of the easier guys to cover cause of it.

Yeah but in Oakland Rice had Gannon throwing him the ball and Moss had quarterback of the week throwing him the ball so BIG difference.
