IO I would never mock you! I love you man! I might outright insult you but being as you're ten times smarter than I am I would go crawl under a rock for a month while the long ass retort slammed me. I really did have a friend interested in joining up. Don't know about now that the draft is over though. My team is almost identical to my team last year. I don't know how that happened but if this is the team I'm stuck with I'm ok with it.
Could you guys just REALLY clue me in on who is ACTUALLY participating in the league this season. Which teams have been abandoned? Maybe my friend will be willing to take on one of the abandoned teams? If we could have 10 people all together I think we would be great.
Sorry about the hangover Ero!

Re: Fantasy Football 2009 [AF Elite]
Since we had a good first showing of eight teams last year, I thought garnering just two more new teams would be a cinch. But since early July when both erokero and I gave notice to TT to restart the league because we hadn't selected our keepers yet, we learned that we had significant attrition.
Up til last week, we only had Kumicho, myself, trashalkr, and erokero85 as definite participants. then you showed back up, DL, and we had a returning member, boosting it up to five teams, and erokero said his friend Dan would be participating again this year, but doesn't belong to this forum; whatever the case, now six. I made a big deal that I had recruited a new member, but because I didn't pick up on the general disinterest in his tone (well, I honestly didn't expect anyone to reply to me, so I took what I could get) I prematurely proclaimed that I had invited a new owner. Not the case, as he bailed.
I sent out a feeler to another person around two days ago, but still no response as of yet, and I'll say confidently now that I won't be expecting one.
So, after two months' due good notice and grace, with understanding and cooperation with TT nearly every step of the way, we're still two teams short of what we had least year. I think 12 is a huge reach considering what steps we've tried over the past 50 days or so, but if there is a way to reset the draft in some manner, or reallocate players manually if possible (I think I need to become a commissioner this year to see how difficult this job truly is because I have no idea; TT deserves some props for shouldering the task).
We still need 2 more teams for an eight man league, four to go for a standard 10-teamer. That's the history of it, DL1.

Yes, the latest is that we have 2 teams that still need owners: 'All-Pro Bowlers' and '4th and looooong'. I have 1 friend who might be interested, but I'll try to confirm with him.
So, I'll create a poll to see who thinks we should restart the draft. I don't think we should simply because there were emails sent out as well as the fact that it would be a bitch to reset it and allowing teams to keep their keepers. But...I'm at the mercy of the league.
Vote in the poll...

Re: Fantasy Football 2009 [AF Elite]
I voted no only cuz to pick a time that works for everyone will still be a problem not to mention the lack of time before the season starts.
The only real reason I'd be up for another draft is if that's what it takes for everyone to stay in the league and to fill the last 2 teams. But again, the time schedule is against us. If that does happen, if there's a way, maybe TT can have us select 2 keepers from the current rosters, since I don't remember everyone's rosters from last year, and then re-draft. Or just do a total re-start and have a complete "auto-draft" for all the teams.
Meh, either way is fine with me. Just can't wait for the season to start. Bears Vs. Packers Sunday Night! Go Bears!

I'd be fine either way, and I especially like the option of an "autodraft" for all teams if there is still too much vocal disdain for either choice.
I vote to redraft again because I still think there is a possibility that we can compliment our league with at least two more replacement teams, if not two more on top (four in total) to complete a 10-man league. If they were to be forced to go to the waiver wire and free agent pool to find their starters, they'd be just as likely to abandon the season then to not have brought them into the league in the first place. Also, I think that a redraft would be more fair and fun if there were more than 2 people participating and joning on each other throughout.
I had a great season last year solely based on the fact that I missed the draft last year, too, and was able to have seven premium wideouts and two very dependable "high-floor" running-backs. I'm not opposed to letting my team be placed on autopick this year again, but this is perhaps the first season of FF that I studied intently, so I'd like to see how my team would fare with my own knowledge and hand-picking of players. I'm sure others might feel the same.

I'm just pissed I got stuck with that Nancyboy Eli Manning....otherwise I can live with the roster. My friend isn't interested in taking over a preexisting roster though. I'll look for soemone else.

I like my starting roster, say an 83% agreeance on who have I currently, but I'd just as well scrap my entire bench at this point. Absolutely not a one of them serves a purpose on my team or in this format.darklighter1 wrote:I'm just pissed I got stuck with that Nancyboy Eli Manning....otherwise I can live with the roster. Looks like I'm the only one who thinks a redraft would be a good idea, at least from those of us whom have returned from last year's season. I guess I'm thinking more about who we could possibly recruit, and whether or not they would accept a preset team. From the near dozen other people I've tried to bring in, each and every one told me no chance they would want a team they had no part in building, or if they couldn't make the draft, they'd rather not even try to edit their rankings to join the competition.
Also, in a very small part, I'm kinda miffed at myself, in which I woke up 12 minutes prior to the draft, and still thought I had a 2 1/2 hour window to get my numerous cheat sheets in order before the process would begin; I didn't have that luxury last year.

Me too I'm mad at myself too. I thought we were postponing the draft till a few more members were available but c'est la vie.
